Darlington is a small P-6 school on the banks of the Albert River, 30 kilometres from our nearest town, Beaudesert. We offer our students a modern education in a traditional setting with a family like atmosphere. We pride ourselves on our ability to be respectful and safe while always doing our best. We participate in an educational partnership with parents to prepare your child for the challenges of the 21st century.
Our mission statement is “Darlington children learn to grow, to become more aware in a happy, caring environment.” Our aim is to help provide an engaging education from prep to year 6, initiating a curriculum embedded in the excellent teaching of literacy, numeracy and science, and exposing students to as many learning experiences as possible.
We believe that the values and characteristics of our families are reflected in the feeling of the community and in productive partnerships between the community.
We value:
A warm, safe, respectful and supportive environment in which your child can grow with confidence.
A personalised curriculum that develops a student’s potential to the fullest.
Teachers who are committed to excellence and who value the individual gift each child offers.
Fair, firm and consistent discipline that ensures that the teaching and learning process is not compromised.
Effective channels of communication ensuring all partners are well informed.
Opportunities for parent involvement.
The school holds community markets two to three times a year which is an opportunity to link the local artists to the curriculum program. We offer our students learning opportunities beyond the classroom including organic gardening, while providing the support systems for our students to excel.
